Data Access and Usage Conditions for value added SCIAMACHY data from IUP/IFE (Scia-Arc)

  • The data available on this page should be used according to the Sciamachy Data Protocol
  • Pictures may be used for non-commercial scientific studies. Any commercial applications, which we welcome, require written permission from IUP/IFE.
  • Data may be used for non-commercial scientific studies within ESA/ENVISAT AO projects (i.e. validation).
  • Any distribution of Institute of Environmental Physics/Institute of Remote Sensing (IUP/IFE) data bases or documentation, as a whole or in parts, using IUP/IFE data products is not allowed.
  • In all publications IUP/IFE, ESA and DLR need to be properly acknowledged and referenced to.
  • While IUP/IFE makes every effort to ensure that its databases are error-free, errors do occur. We ask that you notify us immediately of any errors that you discover in our data. We will make every effort to correct them. With respect to documents available from this server, we do neither make any warranty, express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose; nor assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information, product, or process disclosed; nor represent that its use would not infringe privately owned rights. We shall not be liable for improper or incorrect use of this data, based on the description of appropriate/inappropriate uses.

If you want to use Scia-Arc data for scientific purposes, please return the agreement via Fax or (postal) mail. You can then download the corresponding databases via HTTP. We supply you with the necessary information on where to get the data (web-address, login name, password) via email. Our address is:
