Carbon monoxide version 0.6

Version 0.6 of the WFM-DOAS CO product has been finalized in 2006 (Level 2a). Additional higher level products (Level 2b and Level3) have been generated mid 2007.

We have generated three different types (levels) of data products:

• Level 2a: Basic data product. One file per orbit. Contains the swath data (individual ground pixel data) for all ground pixels (i.e. for quality flag good and bad).
• Level 2b: One file per month. Contains the swath data (i.e., the data product for each ground pixel) only for ground pixels where quality is good.
• Level 3: One file per month. Contains gridded data (0.5 deg latitude x 0.5 deg longitude). Four grid files per month are available: (i) main column product, (ii) mean fit error, (iii) standard deviation, (iv) number of measurements per grid cell. Only those data have been gridded where the quality flag indicates a good measurement.

So far we have processed all available consolidated SCIAMACHY Level 1 version 5 orbit files from the time periode January 2003 - December 2005.
