BENCHAMRK RESULTS IN VECTOR RADIATIVE TRANSFER

Here the benchmark results for the vector radiative transfer equation solution derived using SCIATRAN code are given for the case of a single homogeneous nonabsorbing plane-parallel layer over a black surface. The solar zenith angle is equal to 60 degrees. The relative azimuthal angle is equal to 0, 90, and 180 degrees (the case of the equal illumination and observation angles and the relative azimuth equal to 180 degrees corresponds to the backscattering direction). The following cases are considered: 1) Rayleigh scattering; 2) aerosol scattering; 3) cloud scattering for a fixed value of optical thickness of the corresponding medium. The definion of cases and the results are presented in files given below.
