Man as a component of the biosphere had to adapt always to climate changes, and man has influenced the climate at few places locally since several milleniums, but recently such changes have taken a global scale. This global influence will increase due to the population growth expected by 40% in the next 20 years, and due to the related release of greenhouse gases and changes in land use. Therefore research needs not only to focus on clearly identifying the anthropogenic climate driving mechanisms, but also on the possibilities to reduce them. The problem is aggravated by the increasing water demand.
