Validation of solar irradiance as a SCIAMACHY level-1 data product

This presentation describes the validation of the SCIAMACHY level-1 product solar irradiance.
Solar occultation measurements of the balloon-borne spectrometers LPMA and DOAS will be extrapolated to zero-airmass solar irradiance using the Langley-plot method.
As a requirement for this project, a radiometric calibration of the two balloon-borne instruments is necessary.
The presentation will focus on the general theoretical and technical aspects of the solar irradiance calibration.
