term — The radiance from the sun arriving at the Earth.

term — The upwelling radiance of the Earth as seen from a satellite.

term — The spectral reflectance of the Earth's surface.

term — A satellite orbit which crosses the north and south poles of the Earth

term — A satellite orbit that is slightly tilted to the north-south axis.

term — A satellite orbit that precesses at almost exactly the same rate that the Earth orbits the Sun (approximately one degree per day)

term — A satellite orbit that precesses (as opposed to one that regresses)

term — The part of a satellite orbit during which the satellite is travelling from south to north

term — The part of a satellite orbit during which the satellite is travelling from north to south

term — The invariable local time at which a sun-synchronous satellite crosses the equator.

term — The track of the satellite on the Earth's surface seen when looking directly downwards.

term — The part of a satellite orbit that is over the night side of the Earth.
