Back pixel

Fig 1.3.1.2.5.1: The completion of the Back pixel.

After completing the West pixel the scan mirror returns to its starting point. This 'flyback' takes 1.5 s and is used to carry out an additional spectral measurement, also with an integration time of 1.5 s.

The ground area of this pixel, known as the Back pixel, is therefore 960 x 40 km.
