Retrieval procedures

Fig 0.5.1 Retrieval of the concentration of NO2 in the tropospheric column.

The spectra of the solar irradiance and the earthshine measured from each pixel are processed to extract from the data the concentration of NO2 in the atmosphere, and particularly the concentration of NO2 in the troposphere directly above the pixel.

The spatial resolution of the remote sensing measurement is therefore the size of the ground pixel.

This module describes the retrieval procedures that are used to extract the concentration of NO2 in the atmosphere from the data collected and the procedures used to derive the value for tropospheric NO2.
