On completion of this module you will:

understand the chemical role of tropospheric NO2;

appreciate why we want to measure tropospheric NO2;

understand why and how we use satellite-borne spectrometers to measure
tropospheric NO2 on a global scale;

understand the principles of radiative transfer in the atmosphere;

understand the methods used to retrieve information about spatial
concentrations of NO2 from raw data comprising spectral measurements of
transmitted, reflected and emitted light;

be able to apply this knowledge to particular situations using computational
techniques.
