Cloud Aerosol Surface PArameter Retrieval
The research group at the University of Bremen is engaged in aerosol, cloud and surface studies using optical sensors data from different satellite instruments (e. g., MERIS, MODIS, SeaWiFS). The main theoretical basis for our research is the radiative transfer theory and electromagnetic scattering theory.
The group is a member of the special research field entiteled AC 3, http://ac3-tr.de/ to investigate climate change in the Arctic environment by exploring changes in cloud, aerosol and radiation properties using satellite instrumentation.
The second phase of (AC)3 has been approved by the German Science Foundation. We look forward to another four years of exciting research in this arrea.
In March 2019 Prof. Dr. Wolfgang von Hoyningen Huene passed away. We have lost a friend and esteemed colleague. We miss him very much.
