SCIAMACHY data

Temperature dependent absorption cross sections measured with the SCIAMACHY satellite spectrometer

A data set of accurate temperature dependent absorption cross sections was measured using the satellite spectrometer prior to its launch on board of Envisat-1 in 2001. The data set comprises absorption cross sections of H2O, CO, CO2, CH4 and N2O measured over the whole spectral range of the SCIAMACHY spectrometer (230 - 2380 nm) and in broad temperature range (203 - 293 K).

All files are raw ASCII-data. This is version 1.0 of the absorption cross sections of NO2, SO2, O2, OClO and H2CO. New absorption cross sections were calculated in the SCIAMACHY channel 1 (230-311 nm) in Nov/Dec 2000. They are now corrected for the so-called 'memory effect' and provides as version 2.0.

Updates will be released with a new version number. Please look from time to time for new versions. There are still some problems in the absorption cross section in the SCIAMACHY channel 1 (230-311 nm) probably due to straylight problems. Please report other discrepancies.
