HALO satcom test successful

On 05.07.2017 HALO satcom test in the preparatory phase of EMeRGe-EU was successfully carried.
EMeRGe campaign in Asia is shifted to March 2018

Last Thursday (22.06.2017) the HALO Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) approved officially the HALO timeline for 2018. According to this, the EMeRGe campaign in Asia is shifted to March 2018 as follows:
01.02.2018: Start of the EMeRGe preparation phase in DLR Oberpfaffenhofen
12.03-08.04.2018: Start of the EMeRGe mission phase in Asia with base in Taiwan
15.04.2018: End of the the EMeRGe deployment

Official start of "instrument functional tests on ground"

On 26.06.17 was the official start of "instrument functional tests on ground", which will take around 2 weeks. All instrument teams check their instruments and solve in some cases unexpected challenges, so that on 10.07, the official EMeRGe mission start day, everything is mission ready.

EMeRGe - flight #02 (26.06.17): HASI flight test successfull completed

From 21.06. to 26.06.17 shifted HASI flight test, due to bad weather conditions on 21.06., could successfully completed on 26.06.17 at sunny conditions around HALO home airport (EDMO). Some flight details:
- EMeRGe flight number: 02
- Take off (TO): 10:04 (UTC)
- Flight region: in lateral limits of TRA 307
- Flight level (FL): 400
- Landing (LDG): 11:12 (UTC)
- Flight hours (FH): 1:08

Operator Katharina (MPIC) and Ben (University of Heildelberg, IUP) had theirs first flight with HALO. Congratulation! EMeRGe organization team is thankful to all participants which made this flight possible, especially the DLR-FX crew and the 5 operators!

Despite of bad weather conditions around HALO home airport (EDMO) the EMeRGe EMI flight test could be successfully completed on 21.06.17. Some flight details:

- Flight level (FL): 100
- Landing (LDG): 16:40 (UTC)
- Flight hours (FH): 2:12
During the decent process the 4 operators could enjoy a beautiful outside view.

EMeRGe in Europe: Ground EMC test of the EMeRGe payload successfully passed!

On the 14. June 2017 the electromagnetic compatibility test for the EMeRGe payload has successfully been carried out on the ground. We all can be as happy as the operators are. Well done everybody!

The installation of the EMeRGe instruments in HALO for the campaign in Europe has started on 22.05.17. More informations to what will when installed you can find in the online calender in the section of "time outline".
