Topical workshop on 14th - 16th February 2017
Posted on 07 Nov 2016 by Wilke
In the framework of the HALO SPP, the EMeRGe coordination team has applied for funding to organise the topical workshop “Transport and transformation of pollutants from European and Asian Major population centres (TEAM)” in Bremen on the 14th - 16th February 2017.

TEAM aims to become an ideal forum for EMeRGe international to get deeper both in the scientific background of EMeRGe and in the preparation of the experimental phases.

TEAM will be subdivided in seven sessions:
1. Transport of pollution from European MPCs: state of art
2. What can HALO-EMeRGe and other airborne measurements provide in Europe?
3. Transport of pollution from Asian MPCs: China
4. Transport of pollution from Asian MPCs: Taiwan
5. Transport of pollution from Asian MPCs: Japan
6. EMeRGe International: enhancement by different initiatives: Europe and USA
7. EMeRGe International: enhancement by different initiatives: Asia

Each session will comprise a keynote talk from an invited expert in the subject, and time periods for general discussion. As soon as the decision is taken by the SPP Coordination, relevant contributions from the EMeRGe community will be selected for presentation.

HALO pre-installation exercise for EMeRGe at DLR-OP
Posted on 28 Oct 2016 by Wilke
In the week 14th to 18th November the instruments taken part in EMeRGe will participate in a pre-installation exercise (Stellprobe: SP) in the HALO platform at DLR Oberpfaffenhofen (DLR-OP).

The EMeRGe-SP will enable the timely identification of potential mechanical/physical incompatibilities. Instruments will be connected to the inlets and exhaust lines. After a critical examination of all the issues on the ground, the exact cabin layout for the first experimental phase in Europe in summer 2017 will be defined.

Schedule for fit-check on ground:
