Today the EMeRGe google calender was updated with the latest informations in respect to EMeRGe EU & Asia.

More than 40 scientists from the EMeRGe community in Germany, Great Britain, China, Japan and Taiwan are participating the topical workshop TEAM: Transport and transformation of pollutants from European and Asian Major population centres.

The HALO flights required to test the inlet configuration of EMeRGe were successfully carried out.

K. Witte and F. Probst (DLR-FX) travelled in the first week of December to fix the location of the hangar for the EMeRGe campaign in Asia. They were again greatly supported by our colleagues in Taiwan (special thanks to Prof. Po-Hsiung Lin, from NTU!) and visited the installations of Air Asia in Tainan, in the Kaohsiung airport, and re-established the contact made at Taichung airport during the previous trip to Taiwan. All the information gathered by DLR-FX concerning hangar, infrastructure and logistics is presently being processed by DLR-FX, which will keep further contact to the corresponding airports in order to select the most suitable option as soon as possible.

The pre-installation exercise was successfully concluded on the 18th December. The position of the racks for the EMeRGe experimental phases was defined and most of the issues identified for the participant instruments were solved by discussion between the PIs, enviscope GmbH and DLR-FX on the spot. The remaining open issued will be worked out till the end of the year.

The inlet flight tests could not be carried out as initially planned. HALO had a technical problem just before the first flight on Monday and the flight tests had to be postponed. They are now planned for the first two weeks of December 2016.
