OMO-ASIA

The OMO-ASIA intensive measurement period took place July-August 2015 with HALO base in Pafos (Cyprus) and Gan (Maldives). This experimental phase comprised a total of 120 HALO flight hours to study the role of the Asian monsoon in atmospheric oxidation processes. The targeted area of study covered the Eastern Mediterranean region, a transect from Europe to South Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Peninsula, and East Africa.

PeRCEAS participated successfully in all the flights. Data obtained are analysed and validated on the basis of laboratory experiments for the accurate characterisation of the chemical amplification under the conditions dominating during the flights.
